Les Fuller

Dr. Les Fuller joined Nature United in April 2023. His work focuses on the adoption of Natural Climate Solutions (NCS) by the Canadian agricultural sector to mitigate climate change. He firmly believes that NCS are not only good for the climate but also contribute to regenerating land productivity by valuing healthy soils, quality water and diverse landscapes. 

Les grew up on a multi-generational mixed farm in Saskatchewan, where he cultivated a love for the land. During his post-secondary education, he worked at the Land Resource Unit of Agriculture Canada, which shaped his understanding of how land use impacts the health of soils. After completing a Ph.D. in Soil Chemistry, he served as a professor of Soil Science at the University of Manitoba, Chair of Environmentally Sustainable Agriculture at the University of Alberta, alongside consulting on many environmental impact assessments. Most recently, he was the Director of Member Competence at the Alberta Institute of Agrologists, where he developed professional practice standards and qualifications for agrologists in the province.
